Melissa's Japan Dolphins Blog

The journey of an actor, teacher,
filmmaker & now activist
Once again my heart breaks for the dolphins. A typhoon is heading toward Taiji, making the waters very rough, but the boats still went out and drove a pod of pilot whales into the cove. They were netted into the cove and because of the rough waters, they were repeatedly thrown against the rocks.
This beautiful, brave one managed to break through one of the nets and swim into a shallow area - maybe trying to escape but disoriented and injured.  If you click to enlarge the second photo, you can see her bleeding fin.  The fishermen captured her and put her back into the killing cove with the rest of her family.
Now they’ll be trapped in the cove for 2 days, scared, injured and without food.
